It’s officially the most wonderful time of the year for many – the season of giving! As we approach Thanksgiving, the highly anticipated Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday deals are in full swing starting as early as today.
Is your brand ready to debut its latest product or service to your market? Here are five ways to put your business on the radar this Thanksgiving Weekend:
Giveaways & Contests
In the spirit of the season of giving, hosting giveaways or contests are a great way to pull in your current audience and gain a new following – because, who doesn’t love free things? Facebook and Instagram are great platforms to host these on, as you’re able to build your social media presence further and drive traffic to your brand!
Themed, Visual Content
If your social media page makes use of quotes, stock photos, or any of the latest fun features, keep it classic to the theme of Thanksgiving. Create a holiday mood board to show your audience your seasonal spirit, and engage with them on an emotional level. Make it family focused! Decorate that profile in alignment with your branding, including holiday-themed static images or animated GIFs in your posts.
If you have a product or a service to sell, put it ON SALE! Almost every brand offers discounts and other incentives to shop. Make it exclusive to your “VIP members” or most engaged followers to encourage others to get involved on your e-newsletters or mailing lists. Start your sales early to keep customers on their toes and informed about what to expect from you in the next few days.
Collaboration is Key
People are always looking for ways to serve and give back, especially during this season. Partner up with a local cause or charity that may be donating clothes to the less fortunate or providing meals to families for Thanksgiving! Or, connect with another brand in your industry and see how you can contribute to their works. (As they say, everybody eats.)

Looking for another way to give back to your audience? Provide them with do’s and don’ts or a gift guide that relates back to the products and services your brand is able to provide. The next holiday up is Christmas, so trust me when I say people won’t stop scrolling to shop anytime soon. Tap into that philanthropic spirit with your tips and how-to’s – Reels and TikToks on Instagram are a great feature to use to promote these in a fun and lighthearted way.
The biggest shopping event of the year will look different this year– with COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines in place, we’ll start to see fewer and fewer shoppers in-store and more people on their screens via the Internet and social media.
